In most of the Caribbean, rum cakes are a traditional holiday season desserts.

Rum cake originated as a steamed pudding, brought to the islands by English settlers in the mid 17th century. A dense yet moist cake infused with a rum and butter syrup that takes deliciousness to a whole other level. 

I first tasted this cake in Barbados and fell in love with it. It is rich, flavorful, and satisfying. Serve warm or cold, with a scoop of ice cream of your choice.  A true taste of the Caribbean! Flavor with walnuts, coconut, raisins or chocolate, or plain vanilla. We typically use dark rum and offer a 6" or a 10" bundt cake.
