Banana bread first became a standard feature of American cookbooks with the popularization of baking soda and baking powder in the 1930's. 
Delicious for dessert, as a snack, or wonderful toasted for breakfast! We offer it plain, with chopped walnuts, raisins, chocolate chips, or coconut and macademia nuts.
